studied the traditional cultures of the various
ethnic groups of this vast region and more specifi-
cally their beliefs, myths and artistic expressions. In
archeology, our concentration has been on cross-
cultural influences. We are interested in art that
reflects a vision of the world close to nature and
the spirits that animate it.
