MAD SCIENCE MEETS ROCKSPORT — vacation week! WINTER EDITION! A Superb Combo Program for the Vacation Week! Back by Popular Demand! We are excited to offer this fantastic program, featuring two popular elements that kids love — science exploration and rock climbing! We partner with Mad Science and Rocksport to bring this awesome opportunity to your child. Children will learn about the featured science topic of the day, enjoy a snack which is provided; and then, have a blast as they rock climb. This is out-of-this world FUN! EARTHWORKS WORKSHOP: Children are introduced to the science of geology. They examine three different rock types and learn how and where they are formed. Children investigate tectonic plates and learn how their movements cause stress on the Earth. They discover that these movements can cause mountains to form, earthquakes to occur, and volcanoes to erupt. The children make and take home a sedimentary stacker, which reinforces the concept of sedimentary rock formation learned in class. ROCK CLIMBING COMPONENT: Children will learn basic skills, techniques, and climbing strategy. Rocksport instructors will be monitoring the children as they have so much fun climbing at the spectacular, state-of-the-art Rocksport facility! All materials, supplies, and a snack are included. Note to parents: For your child’s safety, please inform the Department Staff, at the time of registration, and the instructor of any known allergies that exist for your child. It will be a great afternoon for the kids! Let’s ROCK this perfect combo! FOR ........................................
