This week-long camp will be held at the new, state-of-the-art RockSport facility. MAD SCIENCE CAMP — ROCKETRY IN SPACE In this program, we will focus on rocket transportation, rocket staging, and advanced rocket launches. Campers will discover the advantages of rocket staging and discover how balance and stability are important to rocket design. The altitude tracker, that children will make, shows how high rockets fly. Children will use their feet to launch air-powered rockets. Campers will become part of a launch team to assist in a rocket launch. This exciting program ends with rocket launches the last half-hour of the camp! This program is curriculum-correlated and meets S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) objectives. Professional equipment and materials will be used. This camp will encourage team-building, as we work collaboratively to solve real-world S.T.E.M. problems! All supplies are included. FOR ......................................... We are excited to offer this fantastic program, featuring two popular elements that kids love — engineering and climbing! We partner with Mad Science and RockSport to bring this awesome opportunity to your child! Children will be structural engineers and build a tower that rises high, enjoy a snack which is provided, and have a blast as they rock climb to reach new heights! TOWERS – BRIXOLOGY LEGO®: Reach for the sky! Find out how structural engineers use ideas from physics to solve problems. Work together to build a structurally sound tower with a working elevator, then test and improve your design for strength and stability. A take-home is provided for our young engineers. ROCK CLIMBING: Children will learn basic skills, techniques, and climbing strategy. RockSport instructors will be monitoring the children as they have so much fun climbing at the spectacular, state-of-the-art RockSport facility! All materials, supplies, equipment, and a snack are included.
