What does it mean to mark the 25th edition of the
Stratford Culinary Guide? It means bragging about
our
young talented chefs
, the tenacity of local
producers and artisans, and the
unrelenting
demand for innovation
and excellence in our
food scene. It means celebrating the next generation
in Stratford.
There is
magic and passion
in restaurant
kitchens, on the plate and in your glass. Fuelled by
freshness arriving at the restaurant's kitchen door
and featured on a blackboard dinner menu the same
day, our chefs are always
pushing the limits
.
Plant-based menu choices and hip restaurants
deliver
exciting, new-world flavours
. Global
trends influence dishes
created with locally sourced ingredients.
We take our culinary pursuits seriously. Whether training students for
a career in food at the
Stratford Chefs School
or sharing tips
during
hands-on
cooking classes for home cooks; our culinary
mentors are always striving to bring the best to you. Ryan
O'Donnell, Executive Chef, Mercer Kitchen +Beer Hall +Hotel: "I
came to Stratford to attend the Stratford Chefs School thinking it
would be a 2-year stopover in my life. That was 12 years ago! The
farm-to-table ideals
espoused by Stratford Chefs School
and the world class products grown in and around Stratford are
the central influence in my cooking style."
Don't take our word for it, discover Stratford's exciting food scene
for yourself. Use this guide to steer your culinary journey with us
from lively farmers markets to haute cuisine. Then share and enjoy the

The best part
of being in this industry
in Stratford is the plethora of
amazing farms and producers so
close to us heritage breeds and
heirloom varieties, incredible cheese
and delicious farmed fish, and I might
add, my favourite craft beers all
within a 15-minute drive.
