the Christian belief that every aspect of our world is under
God's sovereign providence. Every few weeks our students
take trips around southern California to learn and serve.
Sometimes we volunteer at the Union Rescue Mission. We'll
attend an opera at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. We'll even
venture across the Golden State to explore the flora and
fauna of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
What better place to learn how to live the Christian life while
interacting with culture in one of the most diverse cities in the
United States?
Adopt a Lifestyle of Learning
Close-knit communities make for well-knit minds. Providence
boasts a 7:1 student/faculty ratio. The education is built on
rich conversation among students and faculty, both inside and
outside the classroom. Eighty-five percent of the student body
lives on the 17-acre campus, further allowing Providence to
nurture a covenantal, residential learning community.
At that community's disposal are all the nearby attractions
the area has to offer. At Providence's campus in Pasadena,
you're 12 miles from urban Los Angeles, 30 miles from the
Pacific, and only one mile from the beautiful hiking trails of
the San Gabriel Mountains.
Even on campus you'll have no trouble finding fun. Improv,
open mic nights, intramural sports, and a variety of clubs
keep culture happening on the Providence grounds.
Though Providence is independent of a denomination, our
rare ecosystem of learning emphasizes truths cherished by
the Reformed tradition: God's sovereignty, the gift of salvation
through Jesus Christ, a holistic application of that gospel, and
the biblical mandate to unfold God's truth in all corners of life.
An Affordable Investment
We believe that a Providence education is an investment in a
student's future. We want to help students make that invest-
ment through our generous financial aid program.
In addition to our standard financial aid, Providence offers a
$5,000 scholarship to any graduate of a member school of
Christian Schools International. We also provide our loan re-
payment assistance program, available at no cost, to incom-
ing students to assist with student loan payback if income
falls below a certain threshold after graduation.

Providence's mission starts with Scripture. On the firm
ground of biblical truth, we equip students with a rich liberal
arts education. We prepare them to engage their churches,
communities, and world. We pray for and equip them to live
lives of service to humanity--all for the glory of God.
Craft Your Own Major
A changing world requires a changing education. Our liberal
arts major provides students with a far-ranging but unified
degree tailor-made for the workplace and its evolving nature.
All students pursue a BA in liberal studies, but through our
"craft your own major" approach, students are nurtured to
develop their own unique spiritual, intellectual, and artistic
gifts within that structure. By choosing a minimum of two con-
centration areas, our students are versed in a broad range of
subject matter as they pursue their individual callings.
Providence is also devoted to helping our students view all
of life through the clear lens of biblical truth. During their
Providence tenure, every student studies through the entirety
of Scripture.
Our devotion to biblical understanding, combined with
classes like Radicalism in America, Old Testament, and Mod-
ern Russian Literature, enables our school to cultivate what
Providence's Dr. Ryan McIlhenny calls "critical and creative
citizens."
This approach works. Ninety percent of graduates have
found jobs or been accepted to graduate school within six
months of graduating. A Providence degree has taken our
students into law school, teaching, seminary, radio, and the
business world, preparing them for the scope of the market-
place, their communities, and their church life. Each of them
was prepared by Providence to excel.
Make Los Angeles Your Classroom
There is no other city in the world like Los Angeles, where
culture collides with culture--up against the beautiful Pacific
Ocean. LA is a frontier in itself, an inexhaustible source of
experiences, relationships, and challenges.
