RESERVATIONS:
Reservations can be made by calling Discover Alaska direct.
DEPOSITS:
Deposit of $500 per person due at time of confirming your cruise tour
reservation.
FINAL PAYMENTS:
The final payment is due 90 days prior to departure. If payment is not
received on time the space may be released, and re-booking will be sub-
ject to availability.
PAYMENTS:
Discover Alaska accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express,
Discover, and personal check. A discount of 2% will be extended for your
Cruise Tour if paid by check or cash. Convenient monthly payments are
available without any additional charges or interest.
INSURANCE PROGRAM:
Discover Alaska offers the Holland America Line Platinum Cancellation
Protection Plan to cover your trip cancellations and interruption, medical
emergency services, baggage loss or delay or medical assistance while
on your Cruise Tour. Insurance premiums are not refundable
CANCELLATION:
90 to 57 days prior to departure incur penalty equal to deposit
56 to 29 days prior to departure there is a 50% penalty charge
28 to 16 days prior to departure there is a 75% penalty charge
15 days or less prior departure there is a 100% penalty charge
Cancellations are also subject to penalties imposed from hotels,
And Tour Operators. Cancellations must be made in writing or
email to Discover Alaska.
There is a $250 non-refundable administration fee per person upon
cancellation regardless of insurance purchased.
PRE/POST TOUR AND HOTEL NIGHTS:
Discover Alaska offers Pre/Post tours to Arctic Circle. If you are planning
on arriving early or extending your trip Discover Alaska offers pre and
post hotel nights in Fairbanks and Vancouver.
* Denali Tundra Wilderness Tour option must be booked prior to your
final payment date.
ITINERARY REVISIONS:
Discover Alaska reserves the right to revise the services included in the
itinerary such as hotel accommodations and attractions. In case of a
substitution, a comparable quality service will be used.
Rooms on the land portion of the trip:
Triple or Quad rooms feature, 2 Queen beds or 2 double beds and a
roll-away or a sofa bed.
Rooms on the Land Portion (Vancouver) of the trip:
Triple or Quad rooms feature 2 Queen beds or 2 Double beds.
LAUNDRY SERVICE DURING YOUR CRUISE/TOUR:
Laundry Facilities (washer/dryer) are not available on the Noordam or
Westerdam. Laundry, dry cleaning and pressing services are available
for a fee on Westerdam and Noordam. For your Alaska Land portion of
your trip laundry facilities are only available in Fairbanks.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS:
A valid passport is required for travel to Canada. No other form of I.D. will
be accepted. Your Passport must be valid for 6 months after the end of
your trip. Passport cards are not acceptable
GENERAL PACKING TIPS:
In general, Alaska is casual. The best approach is to bring clothes that
can be layered; more layers for cooler, windier weather, fewer layers for
warm, dry days. Be sure to also bring:
· A lightweight, waterproof coat or jacket, as well as a sweater or warm
vest for strolling the decks of the ship and for glacier viewing
· A warm hat and gloves
· Sturdy walking shoes for every day use. Binoculars - if you enjoy bird
watching or would like a closer look at wildlife and glaciers. For day
time, casual dress, it's suggested that you bring comfort able relaxed
clothing that can be layered easily. Two evenings are designated as
formal and the gentlemen are asked to wear a tie and jacket. Ladies
should plan on a long skirt, dressy pantsuit or cocktail dress.
CELL PHONES:
Cell phone coverage is available in most Alaska cities. You will find that
cell phone coverage is not always available while on board ship.
LUGGAGE HANDLING:
Once you check-in at your hotel at the beginning of your Cruise Tour
Discover Alaska will handle your checked luggage for the remainder of
your trip.
TOUR PACKAGE:
Tour Package, including luggage tags, will be mailed approximately 21
to 30 days prior to departure. If you have booked a Pre or Post Tour with
Discover Alaska, you will receive a copy of your itinerary, tour transfer
information and pickup location, and vouchers (if required) with your
final cruise documents.
E-DOC INFO:
Each individual guest is required to complete an On-line Signature
Preferred Boarding Pass no less than 1 week prior to their departure.
Instructions will be enclosed with your final Cruise Documents.
Shipboard Account:
As with other major cruise lines, Holland America, has a cashless society
onboard. All guests must register a credit or debit card at time of
embarkation in order to make shipboard purchases. You will be able to
make shipboard purchases by simply showing your stateroom key card
and signing a receipt. At the end of the cruise you will receive a final
statement, and your card will be charged in the amount to cover all
shipboard charges. Personal checks are not accepted onboard.
TIPPING AND GRATUITIES:
Open seating or fixed seating: $13.50 per person per day: $15.00 per
person per day for suites. This will be added to your on board account.

INCLUDED TOURS:
Tips for local driver/escorts are at your own discretion. Alaska -
Suggested tip for drivers is $2.50 per day/per person and for escorts
or guides the suggested tip is $3.50 per day/per person. Vancouver -
Suggested for Driver/Guide is $2.00 per day/per person. Tips for meals
and baggage handling, which are part of your tour, have been included.

Early Seating 5:45 PM · Late Seating 8:00 PM
Open Seating: 5:15 PM - 9:00 PM Once on board, the ship has a
dining reservations phone number where Reservations will be taken on
a first-come, first-served basis for a guest's preferred time and table size
for the open seating option. Special Meals must be requested at time of
booking. Please reconfirm once on board ship. Meals in Vancouver:
2 breakfast Meals in your Alaska land portion of your trip: All Meals
Health Hints:
If you are bringing a walker, wheelchair, electric wheel-
chair, scooter, or oxygen, please advise Discover Alaska. If any health
device (e.g. CPAP machine) needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet,
you will need to bring your own extension cord. (limited power strips
maybe avail from your steward). For those needing distilled water, it is
available onboard for $4.00 per gallon (pre-order is necessary). Coolers
are available in all cabins. HAL does not recommend these for medica-
tions, see you cabin steward who has access to a Medical refrigerator.
