LONDON AND SOUTH EAST
The Oratory School
βAt The Oratory we offer an education that prepares our pupils for the world and truly sets them apart.β
The Oratory is an HMC Roman Catholic independent boarding and day school. From September 2020, The Oratory will become a co-educational school, welcoming girls and boys from the age of 11 to 18. Established in 1859, we provide a first class traditional British boarding school experience. The majority of our pupils are from the UK so English is spoken all the time, therefore our international pupils get the very best of a British education in the UK. Set on a large 100 acre country estate in the Oxfordshire
countryside, we offer the best of both worlds, easily accessible routes to London and major airports, yet breath-taking surroundings. Despite being a broadly nonselective school, we have very high academic standards and are positioned in the top 3% of schools nationally for value-added at A Level. However, an Oratory education is about developing our young people in a much wider sense than exam results alone can demonstrate. Being a vibrant boarding community our

weekends are as busy as the week with a packed programme of activities organised by our House families. Our pupils also enjoy a variety of cultural, sporting, and charitable activities through our co-curricular programme. As a Catholic school that welcomes pupils of all faiths or none, visitors often comment on the inclusive family atmosphere of our school. We offer a nurturing educational environment where children can thrive in the stability of friends and teachers.
