CORPORATE PARTNER CASE STUDY:
TEXAS INSTRUMENTS
Texas Instruments (TI) has been committed to corporate citizenship since its founding more
than 80 years ago. The company believes that strong communities build strong companies
and strong companies build strong communities. SVCF has partnered with TI since 2011.
With its philanthropic and volunteer efforts, TI focuses on improving lives and strengthening
communities where it operates. With a goal of helping every child succeed, the company
strives to improve learning and teaching -- especially science, technology, engineering and
math (STEM) skills in the U.S. -- and access to education around the world.
"TI has been able to expand its investments in education and critical needs in major site
communities in the U.S., Asia and Europe with strategic assistance and support from SVCF,"
says Trisha Cunningham, TI's chief citizenship officer. SVCF has helped the company's
nonprofit cohort that is focused on STEM education with setting goals, measuring impact
and facilitating conversations among like-minded nonprofit organizations. TI and SVCF also
partner closely on the Silicon Valley Common Core Initiative, an effort to foster successful
implementation of Common Core State Standards in public schools in San Mateo and
Santa Clara counties. SVCF looks forward to continuing this long-time partnership with TI.
