Krestine Kjærholm is a textile artist.
For her, simplicity is a decisive factor.
But she also likes to spice up her
carpets with a line, and asymmetry is her
trademark. "I am classically Scandinavian
in my expression. I mainly work with
brown and black, and like to make lines
that end in the middle of it all. I call
it a tease",
Krestine Kjærholm says.

Ornaments are not popular when your last
name is Kjærholm. Her father was the
world-famous furniture designer, Poul
Kjærholm, and her mother was architect
Hanne Kjærholm, Denmark's first and so
far only female professor of
architecture.

On the 4
th
floor of one of Nansensgades'
many backyard buildings, we met Krestine.
And now, several of Krestine's "teases"
can be found in the couch in our lobby,
with lots of pillows and poufs, and one
of her beautiful carpets can be found
here as well.

The Kjærholm family is legendary within
Danish furniture design. And we find it
very special that Krestine wanted to
contribute with her sense of fine,
beautiful lines.
