Nansensgade in at Ibsens Hotel. We wanted to invite the local spirit inside and become an emotive part of Nansensgade and its wonderful life. And this has been the essence of the theme for the new Ibsens Hotel, we proudly opened in 2011. We wandered up and down the street, peaked into backyards and let the images and impressions sink in. We asked a number of the small workshops and boutiques if they would like to be part of the new Ibsens Hotel and contribute with an item or two. As a result, many different art pieces now adorn Ibsens, including the famous furniture designer Poul Kjærholm's daughter Krestine Kjærholm's lovely textiles in our new lobby, we shop's small tables, Bag-Piet's leather tags for our new key chains, Jess the Antiquarian's books in our library corner, the vintage record player from Würtz Radio, which can play all of our old records, and much much more. But we have also made a couple of great findings at the auction house Lauritz.com, simply because we dig second-hand and recycling. |
