Cuna de Olivares is an extra virgin olive oil producing company located in Mendoza, Argentina. It is one of the most awarded Southern Hemisphere companies and currently produces two brands: Olikids and Vero Andino. The company was established in 2004, and has 250 hectares (615 acres) of orchards in the province of San Juan and 1,000 hectares (2,470 acres) in Mendoza. These provinces are famous for being the cradle of some of the most elite wines in the world, and present ideal conditions for olive tree growing. Cuna de Olivares is 100% vertically integrated, meaning that they own the land, the orchards, and the production facilities along with the storing and bottling facilities. The key to great olive oil, is to know the exact moment to harvest, and to have the production facility as close to the orchards as possible. Therefore, Cuna de Olivares has built their production facilities in the heart of their land, and only harvest their own crops, so the milling process starts immediately after harvesting, yielding world class olive oil! The cultivars planted are: Arbequina, Picual, Coratina, Arbosana, Barnea and Koroneiki, and they currently export to the United States, Brazil, Germany and China. Cuna de Olivares is also Kosher and HACCP certified, and participates in some of the most distinguished olive oil contests around the world. They have obtained several Great Prestige Gold medals, amongst other awards in Olivinus, and even the “Best of Argentina” award in Terrolivo 2012. Their brands serve different market niches. Vero Andino is an elegant, gourmet line, consisting of a blend for average consumer and everyday foods, and three different single varietals for the more sophisticated consumers and needs.Olikis on the other hand, is a groundbreaking concept specifically targeted at children.
