FUNdamentals This class will enable children who can work independently from their parent the opportunity to try it on their own. Program will be broken into 3 groups; red-beginners, yellow-intermediate; greenadvanced. These groups will cover from basics of ge ng wet to stroke performance. Shorter class mes (30 minutes) and smaller ra os (max 1:5) address a en on span and address hypothermic issues. Students will be tested as to their readiness. Then this program is right up your alley! This in-depth course following the training guidelines of The American Red cross will begin to prepare the next genera on with the skills they need to succeed as a Lifeguard. Students will receive training in Lifeguard skills, CPR and AED use with the newest guidelines as well as leadership skills and teamwork by a cer fied Lifeguard. In addional to 12 regular classes, me will be used outside of class to observe and shadow Lifeguards on duty and a end Lifeguard Training In-services. Course fee includes textbook and materials. Prerequisites for taking the course, which will be tested on the first day of class, are the ability to swim 2 widths of the pool without res ng, treading water for 1 minute, and retrieving a 10-lb. brick from a depth of 4 . Private lessons request forms can be filled out at the Recrea on Center prior to the start of the pool season and at the Palos Pool a er opening day on May 31st. Private Lesson forms will be available star ng May 1st. 50% deposit is due when reques ng a lesson, the remaining balance is due prior to the first mee ng.
