Wells Cathedral School
"Wells Cathedral
School provides an
inspiring education
set in a musically
alive and beautiful
environment, as a
brilliant foundation
for life."
Wells Cathedral School is
a vibrant co-educational
independent day and boarding
school for pupils aged 2 to 18,
offering a wide selection of
enriching curricular activities,
as well as excelling academically,
with outstanding results at
GCSE and A-level.
The school is internationally
famous as a specialist music
school, one of only four in
England within the Department
for Education's (DofE) Music
and Dance Scheme, and the only
music school to operate within
the context of a conventional
school, incorporating talented
musicians within the general
school community.
The school is located in the
heart of the beautiful historic
city of Wells, in Somerset.
The stunning West Country
cities of Bath and Bristol are
20 miles equidistant, both with
regular main line train services
to London Paddington and
Bristol's international airport.
The M4 motorway allows easy
access to London and the South
East, including Heathrow and
Gatwick airports; whilst the
M5 motorway connects the
Midlands and North England.
The countryside around Wells
is full of beautiful walks and
interesting historical landmarks,
including the legendary
Glastonbury Tor, Glastonbury
Abbey, Cheddar Gorge and
the Mendip Hills, an Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Close to Wells is the stunning
city of Bath, with its famous
Roman Baths, Spa and Abbey,
and fabulous alleyways of high
quality shops; whilst to the north
lies the lively metropolis of
Bristol, England's sixth city, and
home of celebrated international
artist Banksy, with a thriving arts
and culture scene.
