Harrogate Ladies' College is a
vibrant, stimulating and diverse
school community. Founded in
1893, we are a day and boarding
school for girls aged 11-18 located
in the heart of the beautiful spa
town of Harrogate.
Around 40% of our pupils are
boarders and come from more
than 29 countries. Boarders are
fully integrated into our school
community and live in one of
our four comfortable family
houses which provide a `home
from home' experience.
Outstanding teaching, strong
pastoral support and a secure
friendly community allow girls to
excel academically and become
confident, successful young women
who strive to be the very best they
can be.
In 2018, our A level and GCSE
results were excellent. At A level,
35% of all grades were A*-A and
70% of all grades were A*-B. At
GCSE, 50% of all grades were
A*-A (or the equivalent grades
9,8,7), 41% of girls were awarded
5 or more A*-A grades (or the
equivalent grades 9,8,7) and 91%
of all grades were A*-C (or the
equivalent grades 9-4).
Over 80% of girls received offers
from Russell Group universities and
87% secured their preferred choice
of university, including a place at
Oxford University to read Classics.
Harrogate has excellent rail
and road links with easy access
to Leeds Bradford Airport (20
minutes), Manchester Airport (90
minutes) and London Heathrow
(35 minute shuttle flight).
