Hello everyone! With the calendar finally turning to spring and mother nature obliging us with
some warmer weather, let's shed some clothing and head to the club for Brunch. Yes, for a
limited time The Club is open to the public for Sunday Brunch Buffet (reservations are required).
The following recipe, Strawberry Stuffed French Toast, is one of our regular and popular
items. However, if you can't make it out to join us, I have provided you with the procedure for
you to produce this tasty dish at home!
FILLING
Cream Cheese, softened
1pint Strawberries, diced
into inch cubes
3oz powdered Sugar
1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
1oz Strawberry Sauce
pinch Salt
24 Slice White Sandwich
Bread
BATTER
1tsp cinnamon
oz Jim Beam
1tsp Vanilla Extract
6 whole eggs
6 oz Half & Half
In a bowl combine and mix all the "filling" ingredients until even and well distributed. Spread
filling evenly over 12 slices of bread. Top each "sandwich" with another slice of bread.
In another bowl, mix cinnamon, Jim Beam and Vanilla Extract to create a smooth thin paste.
Water may be used in place of liquor. Add and mix the eggs and half and half. Add and mix
in sugar and the salt.
The "Sandwich" and batter can be prepared a day ahead to expedite this process when you
wish to cook them. Make sure they are both refrigerated.
To cook the French Toast, warm a griddle or large frying pan on
medium heat. Add enough vegetable oil and whole butter to barely
cover the bottom. Stir your batter then dip each "sandwich", one at
a time, into the batter and place onto your warm oiled pan. Add as
many sandwiches as your cooking surface will allow. Cook on each
side 2-3 minutes until a deep brown.
To serve cut sandwich in half, drizzle with strawberry sauce and
top with powdered sugar.

Pinch salt

CroppMetcalfe
is a fairly recent
arrival in Fauquier
County, perhaps
you've heard of
its impressive
history; in fact,
this year marks its
40th anniversary.
Founded by
Mitchell Cropp
in 1979, it has remained a family-operated
business ever since, providing heating,
air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, pest
control, and home performance contractor
services to residential and commercial
clients. services to residential and commercial
clients.
"CroppMetcalfe's mission has always been to
provide the ultimate in total comfort systems
for homes and businesses," says Eric Tessel,
the company's brand manager for over 10
years. He points out that CroppMetcalfe's
superior quality and service has led to

continuous growth, making it one of the
largest and most respected companies in the
industry in the Washington Metropolitan area.
Eric explains that one of the company's
primary focuses is technician training.
"CroppMetcalfe is the home of the 5-star
technician," he says. "We have our own
academy, which provides four-year accredited
apprenticeship programs for HVAC and
Plumbing. We're known as the most highly
trained in the industry, and we understand
that there needs to be inherent trust between
our technicians and customers."
Two years ago, they acquired the Warrenton-
based TLC Services, which provided similar
services to CroppMetcalfe. While this allowed
the business to bring their outstanding
services to Fauquier and Culpeper counties,
they retained the majority of the same staff
members who were already known to their
customers.
"We've enjoyed learning about the people and
community," Eric says, adding that they look
forward to participating in community events,
including the Spring Festival and Warrenton
Town Limits. Next month, CroppMetcalfe
is hosting a food drive in conjunction with
the Fauquier Food Bank, and NBC4 will
provide some coverage! To learn more, call
