There are a lot of council requirements that have to be met
with every job, and our aim is to make sure any plans we
draw up will be approved as quickly as possible, without any
great inconvenience to our clients," he says.
"Our brief was to really open up the back of the house and
to create indoor/outdoor living," Jonathan adds. "We were
able to do that by designing the extension as an L-shape
and putting in a Euro Cav sliding door, which is basically a
moving wall that can instantly section off rooms."
While some aspects of the design had to be amended and
council approval took longer than anticipated, all aspects
of the job went smoothly and the family were even able to
remain in the house during the renovation.
"Rather than creating even more upheaval by moving out,
we decided to stay throughout the whole construction," they
say. "Tailored Construction were very helpful they boarded
up the back of the house where all of the work was taking
place, and they plumbed the washing machine in to another
area so we could keep functioning as normally as possible."
Impressed with the final result, the couple says it has
completely transformed their living quarters.

Construction Group for a kitchen and bathroom renovation
back in 2010, a Five Dock couple decided to call on the
company a second time when it was time to extend their
family home.
"We originally found Tailored Construction on the Internet,
and had a very positive experience the first time around,"
they explain. "We chose them again because we were planning
to manage the new project ourselves and we knew that the
owner, Jonathan Hayes, is an excellent communicator and
works hard to get the job done. We particularly wanted to
avoid any combative dealings with tradesmen."
The job involved a complete rebuild at the back of the
couple's 1920s Californian bungalow-style home.
"The house needed remodeling to suit us and our two
children. We wanted to make much better use of the space
and have one big room with multiple uses," they add. "We
came up with some ideas, talked them through with
Jonathan and his team, then got them to draw up the plans."
Jonathan then submitted the DA (development application)
and CC (construction certificate) to City of Canada Bay Council.
"Submitting DAs and CCs is part of the service we offer.
