Mailing Labels
M
ailing labels are oft en a substi tute for printi ng mailing addresses directly
onto envelopes. They become necessary when the item being mailed
is packaged in something other than an envelope that fi ts in the printer or for
correspondence that is going to many diff erent addresses. Microsoft Word
allows users to choose from the most popular brands and sizes of labels.
1. Allow for correct word spacing and punctuati on around merged fi elds.
2. Proofread the labels carefully before and aft er merging.
3. Read through all instructi ons prior to completi ng the project.
1. Using Microsoft Word, create a new document.
2. Save the document as Project WRD-9 Mailing Labels in your "Word" folder
under "The Hub" folder.
3. Using the mail merge feature, set up the main document indicati ng "Labels" as
the document type. Choose Avery 5163 (2 inch x 4 inch) mailing labels.
4. Using the mail merge feature, select the fi le "Membership Database" (created
in Project ACC-1 Membership Database) in your "Access" folder under "The
Hub" folder.
NOTE:
This step will connect the main document (the labels) to the data source
document; the data source document does not actually display on the screen.
