publicizetheirservices,products,prices,andcontactinformation.Brochures
usuallyhaveonlyamatterofsecondstocapturesomeone'sinterest.Make
sureyourshasareadable,eye-catchingdesignandfocusesonwhatthe
patronswillreceiveratherthanonwhatTheHubdoes.
1. Formatthedocumenttolandscapeorientationsothatthebrochurecanbe
folded.
2. Makesurethebrochureiseasytoreadbyusingborders,shading,bulletedor
numberedlists,andgraphicimages.
3. Limityourfontstylestonomorethanthreewhilekeepingheadingsconsistent
throughoutthebrochure.
4. Planthelayoutanddesignofthebrochureonpaperfirst.
5. Readthroughallinstructionspriortocompletingtheproject.
1. Beforecontinuing,notethatthelayout,design,andfontsforthisprojectwillbe
leftforyoutodecide.
2. UsingMicrosoftPublisher,oranequivalentdesktoppublishingsoftware,create
anewtwo-pagedocument.
3. SavethedocumentasProjectDTP-8Brochureinyour"DTP"folderunder"The
Hub"folder.
4. Setthepagesizeto11incheswidex8.5inchestall(landscape)with.25inch
marginsonallsides.
5. Oneachpage,insertthreecolumnguideswitha.5inchgutter(toallowfor
foldingthebrochureinthirds).Thebrochureshouldnowbedividedintothree
panelsoneachpageasshowninFigureDTP-8.1.Notehowthepanelsare
labeledoneachside.Placethecontentsforthebrochureaccordingtothe
instructionsthatfollow.
6. OntheOutsideRightPanel(frontcover)ofthebrochure,includethefollowing
information:

proportion with the rest of the document.]
