he Hub gives local high school bands the opportunity to use the live
performance stage as their venue. Local high school bands submit a
demoCDinhopesofperformingatthehottestplaceforteenstohangout.
Inaddition,TheHubhostsaBattleoftheBandstwiceayear.Thosewho
areinterestedinparticipatinginthemonthlybattleareconsideredforthis
competition.OnceTheHubhasdeterminedwhowillcompete,aletterissent
to the band's contact person informing them of The Hub's decision.
1. Wheneveryouenterinformationintoaspreadsheetordatabase,beconsistent
inthemannerinwhichyouinputthedata.Forinstance,stateabbreviations
shouldbeenteredusingthestandardUnitedStatesPostalServicetwoletter
abbreviation.
2. Consistentdataentrywillhelpwithsorting,filtering,andmerginginto
documents.
3. This is an internal spreadsheet. Keep it simple.
4. Readthroughallinstructionspriortocompletingtheproject.
1. UsingMicrosoftExcel,createanewblankworkbook.
2. SavetheworkbookasProjectEXL-1BattleoftheBandsListinyour"Excel"
folder under "The Hub" folder.
3. KeythedataasitappearsinFigureEXL-1.1intothespreadsheet.Unless
otherwisenoted,thefontshouldbesettoArial10point.
4. Change the font size of row 1 to 20 point.
5. UseAutoFittoadjustthewidthofthecolumnssothatdatafitsappropriately.
6. Carefully proofread your work for accuracy and format.
7. Resavethefile.
8. SetthePrintAreatoincludeallcellscontainingdatainthespreadsheet.
9. Print Preview and adjust Page Setup with the following changes:
· Paperorientationshouldbelandscape
· Thecenteroftheheadershouldcontainthetext"BATTLEOFTHEBANDS"
· The sheet should show gridlines
· Thescalingshouldbesettofittoonepage
10. Print a copy of the document if required by your instructor.
