T
he Hub is a for-profit teen community social center located in the heart of Austin, Texas. It was
established to give teens in the surrounding area a safe place to socialize, gather, and connect.
The Hub provides a safe, drug- and tobacco-free zone for teens (ages 14-18) to stay connected to
their peers with entertainment, music, video games, dancing, and great food. Each room in The
Hub is branched off from the main entrance and has a specific theme designed to attract patrons
with many different interests.
Safety at The Hub
To ensure the safety of its patrons, security guards are on duty at all times. During weekend
events, The Hub does not allow patrons to move in and out of the Center during event hours. This
way, parents can feel confident that they know exactly where their teens are. Parents and the
community have endorsed The Hub as "the SAFEST place for kids to be in the Austin area."
The Hub Membership
Established in 2007, The Hub is continuing to expand and grow throughout the Austin region.
Currently, The Hub has over 2,700 members and membership is expected to double by 2015.
The Hub charges an admission fee which varies based on the activity or event. Students can
also purchase membership packages at discounted rates. Becoming a member of The Hub
offers patrons admission discounts, VIP parking, Sub Hub discount cards, and much more. As an
incentive for students to keep education their top priority, The Hub offers a 50% discount off of
any membership package to all Honor Roll students.
Battle of the Bands
Besides weekday events and weekend dance club or parties, The Hub features live bands. Local
teen bands are encouraged to send in CDs if interested in performing at The Hub. Twice a year,
The Hub is host to the hottest Battle of the Bands around. Many bands that have competed for
this title have gone on to perform on 6th Street in hopes of being discovered and breaking into
the music industry.
Private Parties
The Hub is also known for its private parties. Whether it's a sweet sixteen or a pasta party
fundraiser, The Hub can accommodate up to 200 guests. Partygoers can dance to the latest
hits... you choose the playlist when you book your party... feast on delicious food served by the
waitstaff, and enjoy the game room and video screening area at The Hub.
