Fruit is used for wines, jellies etc., if you can beat the birds to it. An elderberry pie is a beautiful thing. Upright, mounded shape. Suckers profusely. Good for naturalizing and very attractive to birds. We gather the fruit in late fall, wash it and freeze it on cookie sheets before placing it in freezer bags. The berries are delicious on their own, though the definitely need sweetening and marry beautifully with peaches and/or chocolate. (3-gal) Photo: Source www.wild-things.ca 127 1-877-538-3228
