TRILLIUM grandiflorum $8.50 16” z 3 Great White Trillium
Ontario’s wildflower emblem. Pure white flowers mature to pink as they age, adding to the trillium’s fascination. Thrives in a deciduous woodland garden with moist, but well-drained, humus-rich soil. In a garden setting, the flowers are usually much larger and bloom over a considerably longer period. It doesn’t get any better than this. Trilliums are slow, but steady spreaders. See them in their natural glory at our Trillium Festival on Mother’s Day weekend in May. These bloomingsized specimens are carefully collected from our own forest. Limited supply each spring. The leaves are phenomenal, and the flowers bloom over a good long period. Deserves a glass of wine to toast its appearance in spring. A favourite in our gardens. Photo: Source
