HELLEBORUS ‘WildThings’ $24.95 z4
Mixed hybrids from the garden. There are often several in a pot, because we're too lazy to transplant them. Many are flowering size. We do not know the colours until they bloom. (2-gal) Photo: Courtesy Walters Gardens Inc.
HEMEROCALLIS
Daylily z2
One of the most popular perennials in existence. Large, lily-shaped flowers in a full palette of colours from white to near black, and every shade in between, except true blue. Many daylilies have contrasting eye zones and margins, frilled petals and a variety of flower shapes, from singles to doubles. Some have excellent fragrance. Sturdy clumps of grass-like leaves. Reasonably drought tolerant and almost impossible to kill. The workhorse of the garden. The blossoms are edible and taste like sugar-sweetened lettuce. Each flower lasts for about a day and flowers continue to open in succession. Some varieties will bloom from late spring into early autumn. We carry cold-hardy, pest-resistant varieties that bloom over a long period and are well-suited to northern areas. Many of the varieties we offer have been grown in our own fields, which means larger pots at better prices. HEMEROCALLIS ‘Bella Lugosi’ $17.95 33”
Outstanding, saturated, true purple blooms with a lime green throat. Sunfast. A strong grower with 6" flowers, well branched and heavily budded. (2 gal) Photo courtesy Walters Gardens, Inc
