GERANIUM pratense ‘Dark Reiter’ $9.95 18” x 18” z4 Black Leaf Cranesbill A dark-leaved cranesbill that forms a compact mound of finely cut, plum-purple to near black foliage. Leafy scapes carry clusters of nicely contrasting, lilac-blue flowers. Likes sun to part shade, and is attractive at the front of the border or in containers. A striking easy-to-grow geranium that adds a lot of colour punch to containers and the front of the border, even when it is not in bloom. Photo courtesy Walters Gardens, Inc. GERANIUM psilostemon $8.95 4’ x 3’ z 5 Armenian Cranesbill Sizzling magenta flowers with black centres and black veins are extremely showy over an exceptionally long period - and that’s saying a lot for a cranesbill. Rambling foliage with a billowy effect turns brilliant red in fall. We use ours to ramble through Rhus typhina ‘Tiger Eyes’ and the combination of magenta flowers weaving through the yellow foliage is dazzling. Easy to grow and where happy, will self-seed. It is so vibrant that new plants are always welcome. Photo: Source GERANIUM ‘Rozanne’ $17.95 20” x 36” z5 Large saucer-shaped true blue flowers from early June into October. Easy and rewarding. One of the best new perennials in years. Will continue to flower without deadheading, but shearing it back in July will keep it compact and tidy and prolongs the bloom period. Vigorous; spreads 2’-3’ in one season. Blooms from late spring to mid fall. Good in the border and in containers. Deer and rabbit resistant. Geranium ‘Rozanne’ grows so well and flowers so prolifically, it is almost a garden by itself. Photo courtesy Walters Gardens, Inc. GERANIUM sanguineum var. striatum $8.95 6” x 15” z3 Alpine Cranesbill Blush-pink flowers with dark crimson veins appear in abundance from late spring to fall. Easy in poor, dry soil. Recommended. This cranesbill is lovely at the front of the border, in hot and dry areas and makes an outstanding, long blooming container plant.
