SALVIA officianalis purpurea 16” x 16” z4 Purple Sage
$7.95
This herb deserves more use in the ornamental garden. Looks good from early spring to late fall, and sometimes even through winter, when we can see it above the snow! Great smoky purple foliage all season and nice taste. Photo: Source
SANGUINARIA canadensis f. multiplex $15.95 6” z 4 Double Bloodroot
Pure white fully double flowers appear like miniature water lilies on this rare, woodland perennial. The flowers and the foliage persist much longer in the garden than the single form, often blooming for over a month here. It is also much more robust and spreads very rapidly to form a large colony. Limited supply. Photo courtesy Walters Gardens, Inc.
SEDUM
Stonecrop
Fleshy, succulent plants with exceptional drought tolerance. Low growing varieties bear star-shaped flowers and form low, tight mats of foliage, excellent for covering slopes, well-suited to the rock garden, the edge of the border, and in containers. The upright cultivars form substantial clumps which can be substituted for low growing shrubs. Their very large, attractive broccoli-like flower clusters provide autumn color, make wonderful cut or dried flowers, attract butterflies and, if left standing, provide winter interest and food for the birds. Sedums are very easy to grow in full sun with minimal water. They are well suited to container growing. They remain attractive with little maintenance from spring to winter. SEDUM ‘Carl’ 18” x 24” z 3 $7.95
Large clusters of brilliant magenta-pink flowers on reddish stems. Forms a dense, compact, upright clump of grey-green, slightly serrated foliage. Photo courtesy Walters Gardens, Inc.
