Limited supply. Photo courtesy Walters Gardens, Inc. SEDUM Stonecrop Fleshy, succulent plants with exceptional drought tolerance. Low growing varieties bear star-shaped flowers and form low, tight mats of foliage, excellent for covering slopes, well-suited to the rock garden, the edge of the border, and in containers. The upright cultivars form substantial clumps which can be substituted for low growing shrubs. Their very large, attractive broccoli-like flower clusters provide autumn color, make wonderful cut or dried flowers, attract butterflies and, if left standing, provide winter interest and food for the birds. Sedums are very easy to grow in full sun with minimal water. They are well suited to container growing. They remain attractive with little maintenance from spring to winter.
