Energy saving technologies
The house is equipped by Nilan VP18sytem which combines Heating, Ventilation and DHW by a Ground
coupled heat-pump.
Nilan VP 18 Compact is a heat-pump recovering heat from the extracting warm air
from kitchen, bathroom and rooms. The dust, moisture and odours are removed and the heat is used to
generate hot water and heated air supply for comfort. The system consists of a 180 l hot water tank,
counter flow heat exchanger, a heat pump and 2 fans for inlet and extraction. The v entilation system
reduces the heating demand, as the supply temperature is higher than the room temperature. The
dimensioning of supply air temperature is 30 °C.
It provides a ventilation rate in summer of 1.2 l/s m
2
and
in winter of 0.09l/s m
2
.
Heating is covered partly by heating the supply air and partly with underfloor
heating.
To VP 18 system is combined with a solar heating system with an Arcon solar collector of 5 m
2
, orientated
to south with a 20º inclination. The hot water heater has a heat exchanger for both solar and coil heating.
In particular when the outside temperature is low an electric heating element is used as an additional heat
source. The
shows the elements of the system and
resumes how the system works as
an example.
