8. Advancement of Key Technologies towards Sustainable
Buildings
8.1. Research and development advancements
There was a separate work package for research and development of six new technologies. Altogether 12
deliverables were produced; six of them with the aim to present the results of development works and six
of them were sales brochures one for each technology.
Selected technologies were:
·
Heat pumps
·
Windows
·
Foundation and floor slab insulation
·
District Heating Pipes
·
CHP plant
·
Building energy management system
Current newsletter is aimed to give a brief overview of them.
8.2. Heat pump for single family houses by Genvex
A new product series HVPC was developed. The new product series was developed in three sizes in
order to cover dwellings from 50 m
2
to 300 m
2
. The products are designed for use in highly
insulated dense dwellings in Europe and are approved according to regulations and requirements
of Minergie P+, Passive House and Low Energy Class 1.
The Premium series is a heat recovery ventilation appliance with an integral pump, an extremely
efficient (heat recovery rate 95%) counter-flow heat exchanger and EC motors. The integral heat
pump heats and cools the supply air and it has
pollen filters as standard on the supply air.
At first, the heat will be recovered in the
counter-flow heat exchanger and then further
heat will be supplied to the supply air by the
heat pump. During summer, the heat pump can
switch to a cooling mode. Furthermore, the
system is easy to install, helps save capital costs
on heating and offers more with low running
costs and optional comfort cooling.
